Taking cues from New York City’s unnaturally bright nighttime sky, this film explores the science of darkness and investigates the effects of light pollution on human health, global security and the natural world.
Following the screening, Inese Ivans, Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy, and Stephen Goldsmith, Associate Professor of City and Metropolitan Planning, both at the University of Utah, will answer questions about light pollution and the disappearing night sky.
