Three decades ago, the world was poised to stop global warming. The White House Effect tells the dramatic origin story of the climate crisis and how a political battle in the George H.W. Bush presidency changed the course of history. Using exclusively archival material, it investigates the role played by the administration enacting policies to reduce global warming alongside the battle between environmentalist turned Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency William K. Reilly in odds with Bush Sr.’s chief of staff John H. Sununu.
