Utah Film Center’s Media Education programs promote arts education by introducing teachers and students to the transformational power of film and filmmaking in the classroom. The ninth grade resources below are free and include film screenings, workshops, professional development, field trips, and lessons while supporting the core curriculum requirements for arts education in the state of Utah.

Classroom Workshops for Students

For grades 3-12
Learn the basics of storytelling in the movies, and the tools and techniques to write a story for the screen.
This workshop is available both virtually and in-person.
The in-person option is available to the Alpine, Canyons, Davis, Emery, Grand, Granite, Jordan, Juab, Millard, Murray, Nebo, North Sanpete, Park City, Provo, Salt Lake, Sevier, South Summit, Tintic, Tooele, and Wasatch school districts. For school districts outside of this list, please book by special request via email.
